A Google profile playbook for Albemarle owners
The three map pins above the search results, what decides them, and the sheet we work through with you.
Look up "dentist Albemarle NC" on a phone. Before any website appears, a small map shows three pinned practices. Many people choose from those three and never scroll further.
Each pin is a Google Business Profile. Four things sway which ones get shown: the category chosen, how fully the listing is filled out, the reviews, and how near the searcher happens to be. Nearness is fixed. Everything else is yours to improve, and a complete listing that matches your website word for word is one of the cheapest upgrades a local company can make.
How the playbook works
You receive a written, step-by-step playbook tailored to your listing, ordered so the easy, high-payoff items come first. Then we tackle it side by side. Your hands stay on the controls inside your own account while Roger explains what each change does, so afterward you understand the listing and no outsider holds a key. We never take manager access to a client's profile.
Eight fields we go through
- Primary category
- Carries more weight than any other field. Pick a near miss and whole families of searches pass you by.
- Secondary categories
- Two or three at most, each matching work you'd happily take tomorrow.
- Business name, address, phone
- Spelled, punctuated and formatted exactly the way your website shows them.
- Service area
- Towns you truly drive to, whether that's Albemarle alone or Locust, Norwood and Oakboro too.
- Services list
- Worded in the customer's language, each item pointing to the matching page.
- Photos
- Recent shots of jobs, people and vehicles, and a note of which kinds are missing.
- Reviews
- Volume, pace, whether each gets a reply, and a short link that makes asking painless.
- Website button
- Sent to the page that best answers the search instead of the home page by default.
Where it fits
Each new website ships with a playbook so the site and the listing say the same thing on launch day. Monthly SEO clients get new listing tasks as months pass. Want help with only the profile? Mention it on the quote form and Roger will price that by itself.
Profile questions
Do you need to log in to my Google account?
Never. We don't request manager access, and we don't want it. You hold the playbook, and during a call or a shared screen you make each edit yourself while Roger explains the reason behind it.
When will the listing start doing better?
Correcting a mismatched category or a stale number can show up in a matter of weeks. Progress that comes from reviews and photos stacks up over months.
No storefront, just trucks. Does a profile still matter?
Very much. Google lets a service-area business keep its home address private and show the towns it covers instead.

Roger pulls up your website and your Maps listing just as a local searcher would stumble on them, then writes back with what's helping and what's in the way.
